What is hydrogen internal combustion (H₂ ICE) and how does it differ from fuel‑cell electric vehicles?
H₂ ICE vehicles burn hydrogen in a modified internal combustion engine. They emit water vapor but may produce small amounts of NOₓ without after‑treatment. Fuel‑cell electric vehicles, by contrast, convert hydrogen to electricity in a fuel cell and power an electric motor; they have higher efficiency but require more complex systems. Both are part of the broader hydrogen ecosystem.
