Project Examples
Decarbonization & Powertrain Analysis
Evaluate adoption scenarios across Classes 4–8 vehicle applications and powertrain types, including battery-electric, hydrogen fuel cell, hydrogen internal combustion, natural gas, gasoline, propane, and hybrid technologies.
ACT helps customers assess how regulation, infrastructure readiness, customer economics, and market demand may shape powertrain adoption over long-term planning horizons.
Autonomous & Advanced Technology Analysis
Understand how autonomous and advanced vehicle technologies may affect Class 8 demand, fleet efficiency, driver requirements, regulatory considerations, insurance, and market adoption across select use cases.
ACT helps customers evaluate not only whether a technology may emerge, but how adoption could affect freight, equipment, fleet, and investment decisions.
Prebuy Analysis
In 2022, ACT Research was again contracted by the EMA to develop a comprehensive prebuy analysis to review the potential impact of the proposed emissions regulations in 2024 and 2027 outlined by the EPA.
Low Nox Standard Project
Starting in 2019, ACT Research was approached to help inform organizations interested in the future of emission standards. This work helped to inform the EMA, CARB, EPA, and NREL of the science and technology opportunities and challenges in question as regulatory standards are being reviewed and decided upon for the future of transportation.
Tortoise & Hyliion Diligence Project
In early 2020, ACT Research was utilized by Tortoise and Hyliion in preparation for their IPO. ACT Research completed and shared a comprehensive TCO model, which was modified for the IPO.
Nikola Due Diligence Project
In 2019, ACT Research was hired by Nikola in preparation for their IPO to provide market due diligence and understanding.
