What is ZEV and what classes of commercial vehicles have ZEV options today?
ZEV stands for zero‑emission vehicle—vehicles that produce no tailpipe emissions. Battery‑electric trucks and buses are the most common ZEVs today, with products available primarily in Class 4–7 medium‑duty segments and an increasing number of Class 8 regional‑haul tractors. Fuel‑cell electric prototypes are being tested for longer‑haul applications.
