Robert Perkins

Robert (Bob) Perkins joined Jacobs Vehicle Systems (Jake Brake) and the HD Truck industry in 1985. While at Jacobs, Bob held roles of increasing responsibility in the marketing department and joined the executive staff in 1990. He retired as VP Marketing & Business Development at the end of 2013 and joined ACT’s staff as Senior Global Business Consultant.
Much of his career at Jacobs was focused on geographic expansion, leading the efforts to gain new business in Europe, Japan, Korea and China. In parallel to his marketing and commercial responsibilities, Bob has held Board of Director roles at Jacobs Mexico, JacobsVIE China (JV) and was President of Jacobs Japan. During Bob’s tenure as head of marketing Jacobs expanded from 4 domestic customers to 24 global customers. He was also part of the team that brought Lean principals to Jacobs and the U.S.
Prior to joining Jacobs, Bob was Deputy Export Manager of Ronson Corporation responsible for sales of consumer products in 169 countries. He was also Assistant to the President of AIC Corporation responsible for Marketing, Finance and HR functions.
Bob was on active duty in the Air Force as a Combat Loadmaster serving in Vietnam and other deployment areas. Completing 97 Combat Missions Bob was awarded 9 medals for his service activity.
Bob earned his B.S. in Finance from Quinnipiac University and an M.S. Administration from the Hartford Graduate Center (now Rensselaer University). Bob is married and has 2 children and 3 grandchildren.
